Bedroom, Crouch End, London

Cole and Sole SerengetiCole & Son wallpaper, high quality wallcovering and royal warrant supplier to Her Majesty the Queen. This paper was wider than the normal width and there was no stretching or mismatching. Room was an awkward shape and trying to get the pattern to match was a challenge but the busy pattern helped to diffuse some of the matching.

The tricky part was around the entrance reveal on the left hand side of the photo. This is a walk in dressing room section of the room and I had to splice the pattern in the center of the top reveal. I managed to to match both side reveals in successfully and continue the pattern around the walk in dressing room area.

The ceiling and woodwork colour was Farrow and Balls Slipper Satin estate emulsion and estate eggshell finishes.

The paint colour compliments the wallcovering very well and most designers are moving away from the brilliant white option for ceilings and woodwork. By using the softer range of colours you eye is drawn to the paper more, although in this case any colour on the woodwork would have been less noticeable than this paper.

This wallpaper was easy to hang as are most high quality papers are and making this pattern a ‘paste the wall’ option allows for effortlessly hanging the wallpaper, although it did make me go cross eyed a few times!
